SPEED stands for Serving People Enthusiastically Every Day -----
  • SPEED is an automotive ministry where the members are able to share their gifts of mechanical knowledge with members of the Columbus community.
  • Andy Alt is providing the lead- so call him at 402-270-2368 to schedule an appointment, or call the church at 402-564-8463.
  • Meets first and third Tuesdays, 6:30 pm, at the church --- come check it out!

GROW Men's group -
  • Usually meets the first Wednesday of each month (excluding June, July, August) from 6:30 pm to approximately 8:00 pm - meal at 6:30 pm, program at 7:00 pm.
  • All men are welcome to come check it out!         
     Philippians 4:13 ... "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
 
The purpose of GROW is "helping each other grow spiritually, so we can help others". We hope to experience God, develop leadership, form friendships, and help others. Our Toolkit involves prayer, worship, Bible, service, relationship, and giving--- all ways to GROW. Come grow with us! 
 
REPORT FOR 2012 -  During 2012, we held one out of town retreat and "plugged into" other church activities such as: Prayer Partnership with the Senior High, helped with their Sunday School, hosted all youth at a dinner and fun/witness night, organized several "handy man" projects on the church's Change the World work day, helped with UMW's soup day, helped with the snow removal project, assisted deployed miitary families and communciated with those deployed.

on Wednesday Mornings...
 
The picture above is of the chartered UMMen group that meets Wednesday mornings in Fellowship Hall at 6:30 AM for breakfast and fellowship and learning through group study and discussion. Come join us for food, fellowship, spiritual growth and service.
 
The Columbus men carry on the local mission of "helping men grow in Christ, so that others may know Christ" and are a chartered unit organized under the General Commission on United Methodist Men. For more general UMMen information, click on the General Commission website link that follows:
 
 
We support the I CAN summer camps for youth, Camp Fontanelle, Columbus Rescue Mission, Strength for Service devotionals for the military, and other missions. We host the Easter Sunrise breakfast and host the Valentine Dinner and Program with lots of help from the youth. We also help the women with their Souper Soup meal in November.
 
The local officers are Chuck Oxley-President, Bob Williams-Vice President, Cal McClurg-Treasurer, Tim Owens-Teacher, and Doug Kallesen-Secretary/Communicator.
